(More customer reviews)This is a gorgeous "4-Piece Place Setting" exactly as the item's title says. It is not a 16-piece set. As such, some may think it's expensive, but they must be new to Mikasa and other fine brands. This is actually a good deal.
I recently bought two of these sets plus a few 'hostess' pieces for a young couple starting out. They already had a large service of casual, everyday dinnerware, but I wanted to give them something special, for those 'date night' candle-lit meals. They LOVE them. It was almost embarrassing how they went on and on about their favorite gift, as most people don't think of having any special dishes just for themselves. Four months on now and they report that they've used them at least once a week and have had no chips, cracks, or breaks.
I would definitely buy these again for others or for myself, and in fact may give them two more settings at the holidays.
