(More customer reviews)I purchased this product from TJ Maxx a few weeks ago, used for the second time today. I was toward the end of my lunch when I noticed something very hard in my mouth. I picked it out and it was a sliver of glass!!! Luckily I was not injured and did not swallow it (I was about to when I noticed it).

When I got home I washed the glass and lid and examined it, there is a chip that is the exact size of the sliver that I almost swallowed in the rim. I had not nicked, bumped, dropped or done anything in anyway to cause this.I am so freaked out by it because I work in a hospital and I know the devastation a tiny sliver of glass can do to my GI had I swallowed it.

I hove not yet had time to call Kinetic and talk to them about this, I will try and update when I do.If you decide to use it please examine the rim every use.To it's credit it absolutely does not leak because I had soup in it and not a drop was spilled!I wonder if the seal is so tight that it stressed the glass and caused the glass to chip. Or did it have some flaw that caused it to end up in a discount store when it should have gone to the landfill.

UPDATE: As I just stated in my response to comment below, I called Kinetic and they agreed to refund my money, I had the check in about two days. They were great!
