(More customer reviews)The Magefesa was highly recommended by a friend, who has owned one for over 20 years. Mine would not come up to pressure. As soon as it reached the boiling point, steam came out of the "safety" valve with so much force it threatened to put out my gas flame. I returned the unit for a replacement, and the second one did the same thing.

I contacted Magefesa customer support. They were very helpful, guiding me through disassembly and reassembly of all the possible problem points. Everything seemed fine to them, and the representative was at a loss to explain what was wrong. He said I appeared to be doing everything correctly. (It's so simple to use, it's hard to imagine what one could do wrong.) He said I could send it to him and he would try it himself, but that would have cost over $13 out of my pocket, so I have returned the unit for a refund.

I can only imagine that there was a bad production run on this model and that some defect is causing the problem. This is a reputable company with lots of good reviews, but I got two that didn't work, so I have decided to try a different brand.

The enclosed version was only in Castillian Spanish. No english version on the net, but you can do a Google translation, which helped, but things are still lost. Selling to the American market? Everything feels very sturdy and well-made

(More customer reviews)I bought this set because I did not know if I wanted a 4 quart or 6 quart pressure cooker, this set solved my problem.When I got this set I was impressed with the quality as it was heavy SS inside and out.My pressure cooker set had only two settings, one for 15 psi and another for 8.5 psi, not three that this listing said.I also ordered the steam basket and trivet ($20), extra gasket ($12), and a SS top ($20) for either base from Magefesausa.com who told me that their pressure cookers only have the two pressure settings and that description of 3 settings was in error.
