(More customer reviews)Gorham Melon Bud 5-Piece Stainless Steel Flatware Place Setting, Service for 1I have owned this flatware for several years now and I am very disappointed in it.I have 14 place settings and all the serving pieces so I am heavily invested in this set.I liked the fact that it was a versatile style with a good weight, it was comfortable in the hand and it offered a large assortment of serving pieces.However, this set does not hold up well in the dishwasher.You must hand wash and dry this set to keep it looking it's best.Even with hand washing and drying, I still get occasional rust spots and tarnishing and I must polish the pieces every several months or so.For the price paid, this flatware requires much too much care.If you don't want to baby your flatware, look elsewhere.

I really liked how the knives match the set - they look just like the butter knives with a sharp edge. So it goes perfectly with the set. Can be used for casual or formal dinnerware.

(More customer reviews)I really like this set because of its contemporary look and the weight of each piece.All the pieces come individually wrapped inside the tray, and the shape is squared as in the image, but they have smooth beveled edges.You can definitely tell it's quality merchandise.The only problem I had was with the wooden tray.It arrived split along one side, but when I contacted the company via email, they promptly sent me a replacement tray.I've had this set for several months now and it's undergone several trips through the dishwasher--no blemishes or anything thus far.I have no qualms about this Yamazaki set, and I just love it!

WMF Jette 20-Piece Flatware Placesetting, Service for Four Review

(More customer reviews)This is supposed to a special collection for WMF's 150th Anniversary. According to their website, they had enlisted "one of the most successful German designers: JETTE JOOP. The cutlery model JETTE is in something special in every respect."

I ordered this as I liked the design of the handle. Since it was a special collection, I expected it to be made in Germany.

When I received the set, I saw that the knife had "China" stamped under the WMF logo.

The other four pieces had "China" stamped after the "18/10" on the back of the handle.
[...]

Nowhere in the product description does it say that this set was made in China. The photograph of the product shown also does not have "China" stamped on it. This is clearly a case of false representation. Why should a customer pay extra for a "special anniversary set", when it is made in China, with "China" stamped all over it?This set should only be sold in China!

Dansk Rondure 5-Piece Place Setting, Service for 1 Review

(More customer reviews)I had high hopes for this tableware when I ordered it (not from Amazon btw) based on this review and other reviews of Dansk and the quality. Well boy was I let down when I received the 10 sets - the spoons were mostly not round and had a combination of flat spots along the edges which made them irregular, varying thickness of the edges, various peices had rough spots/edges that were not polished, pitting/cuts in surfaces, scratches, and the just about all the spoons 'drooped down along the bottom adding to the overall distorted looking circles.

My husband and I really like the design and I wanted to find a way to keep it. I tried contacting Dansk several times about a solution, suggested replacing the worst of the pieces individually since the boxes of individual place settings seemed doomed to have problems, but in spite of the message "a customer service representative will respond in 24 hours" I never got a response.Seems that they do not care that their quality is failing miserably nor do they care about customer service at all.

Sorry to say that it looks like I will be forced to return the Dansk :( , buy at your own risk.

(More customer reviews)This is a beautifully classic pattern, with a nice weight to it (ours is 18/8 stainless, but Amazon advertises 18/10 stainless...don't know if this is a different version or if Amazon has the wrong info?).We selected & received this R&B pattern for our wedding 5 years ago and I still love it to this day.It's our daily use and goes great with our china, too...Mikasa's Crown Jewel Platinum.We wanted something to go with both, and this does, perfectly.

A couple of complaints, though.The knife says "Stainless Handle" on it and one of our knives (out of 12) actually broke in half when I dropped it on the floor.Also, the "cutting part" (the part that's not the handle) of the knife discolors easily, sometimes looks rusty, but polishes pretty well with a damp cloth.So, I don't know what the "cutting part" of knife is made with, but obviously it's not stainless, but the handle is.Despite that, I'm still very pleased with this flatware and love opening my flatware drawer several times a day to see & use this classy set.
