This is the real stuff - heavy duty, quality construction.I have used them with and without a silpat for baking cookies, finishing satueed fish fillets, oven roasting vegetables and many other purposes.

They are easy to clean and substantial.There do not seem to be any hot spots or other problems.

The only complaint I have, and I make it with reservations, is that they ARE heavy.Do not try to lift a loaded sheet out of the oven with one hand.The weight is also a good thing (see "substantial" above) but it easy to forget just how heavy it is going to be when you reach for that hot pad!

Global G-42/41 Magnetic Knife Holder 16-in. Review

(More customer reviews)I've looked at a lot of knife blocks and magnetic strips over the last six months, including this one, which I played with at a local kitchen store. It's attractive as such things go, and it holds on to a chef's knife with a solid grip. I stuck a narrow bread knife on it and, as expected, it didn't hold on quite so tightly (less metal against the strip), sliding slightly. That's no big deal, since magnetic strip holders do much better with wider blades. It performs as well as or better than the other magnetic strips I've tried. But for that I want to pay an extra $60-$80? Absolutely not.

For half the price I'd add a star. It is much prettier than the magnetic strip I've got in my kitchen now, even if it isn't more functional. I'm sure it looks striking with Global knives (all those dots). But there are other nice-looking strips that cost a whole lot less.

I use my magnetic strip for spatulas and scissors. This one would work very well for those, but it seems a shame to spend so much for a stylish spatula holder. For my knives (Hattori - very sharp, very beautiful, and expensive) I ended up buying a Magna Pro knife block (Messermeister sells them). It's a free-standing quarter-circle wedge of wood with magnets inside. It holds ten knives, and when I have to slide one against it, it slides against wood, not metal. If I'm careless or distracted as I put away a knife, it smacks into wood, not metal. It doesn't hold knives quite as tightly as the Global magnetic strip, but it still holds them firmly, it cleans easily, and it has the hygienic open-air storage advantages of a magnetic strip. It looks much nicer and can be had for just $25 more than the Global strip (I found it online for $129 - full retail is more like $180, and still a better buy than the Global strip, in my opinion). It holds two more knives and you can move it around to be handy to your workspace.

The Global magnetic strip knife holder is an attractive and solid product. I just don't think that it's good enough for that $104 price, and those dimples don't add $60 worth of pretty. But pretty is in the eye of the beholder. If you really want your magnetic strip to coordinate with your Global knives and price is no object, then go for it. It will do the job very well indeed.

(More customer reviews)Such mixed reviews on these pans!I had to order these twice because as another reviewer stated..lousey packaging.They arrived damaged.While Ihave not noticed the nonstick coming off, I do have to agree that these are not a good 5 year pan.They are poorly balanced, that meaning the handle is heavier than the pan and it will not sit flat on the burner, everything you cook slides toward the handle. I'll continue to use these until I find a replacement....then out they go!

Mundial Solid Wood Cutting Board, Medium Review

His criteria for a new board included: reasonable size (so he could bring it to the table) and a trough and well to catch meat juices. This board has those attributes, plus it is well made with small rubber feet to hold it secure while carving and handles (carved into the underside of the board) so it can be carried easily to where ever you like. I looked at every carving board on Amazon and on many other websites; many were nice, but none had ALL of the features I've mentioned -- plus -- a very reasonable price! I would not hesitate to recommend this board. By the way, there is NO ONE on the web that has the selection of carving boards you find on Amazon --thanks, Amazon!

A little brighter white than I had anticipated; they are not what I would call ivory but instead a bright, slightly antique white. Nice weight but still delicate enough for a dinner party and strong enough for every day.

- Cannot emphasize this enough: THINK ABOUT HOW SMALL 15 OUNCES REALLY IS!

It's not much.Even a can of prepared soup is 16 ounces.This is an individual serving size dish.I know they give you the dimensions...but they should call it a "single serving" dish or something, just to be clearer.If in doubt, get out a ruler and look at how small 7 x 5 inches is.

- The lid could be a lot better:

It would be nice if it was clear, or had a vent.As it is now, you have to position it carefully in the microwave so the dish does not "seal" while cooking (which will ruin it).

Also, the lid kind of "dips down" into the dish - it should be the opposite - "domed" - so you can fit a bit more food in.The concave shape means that if you fill the dish to the top, some will squeeze out when you seal it.Thus making it...well, more like a 14-ounce dish!:-)

- That being said, if all you want is a teeny dish to heat up a little bit of something for yourself, the quality is good and it will do the job.

Calphalon D1382PB Commercial Hard-Anodized 12-Inch Everyday Pan with Lid Review

(More customer reviews)I've owned this pan for about two years ... it's simply wonderful. The Calphalon Commercial line is the top of the line, just like the Professional, but with stay-cool handles. The thick, sturdy aluminum heats up quickly and evenly, and goes from the stovetop to the oven up to any temperature.
My favorite dish to make with this pan is a large omelette for two to four people. You saute the onions, etc., until carmelized, then add the whipped eggs, top it with diced tomatoes, basil, oregano and cheeses, then broil at about 450 for a couple minutes until browned. Simply wonderful!
I also cook stir frys, poach fish, bake casseroles, and brown meats in this truly Everyday Pan.
Now, for the issues: As with all true Calphalon products, you can not put hard-anodized aluminum into the dishwasher. It will damage the surface, leading to pits and discolorations, and void the lifetime warranty to boot!
Second, this is not a nonstick pan. If you want nonstick, buy Calphalon Commercial Nonstick, the best ever made (The Commercial nonstick line has the more advanced LRS3 coating versus the much less effective LRS coating on the cheaper Professional Nonstick II line).
To clean, simply buy a Dobie pad or its equivalent. For the tough stuff, I find a little Bon Ami or Dormond cleaner does the trick without too much effort.

(More customer reviews)I have these dishes in Nuance of Sage.I love their big, simple, clunky style.They have a beautiful look, bold earthy colors.But, they are heavy in the hand and the cups and bowls are very awkward to stack in the dishwasher and cupboards.One other thing that bothers me, I thought this was stoneware.After 3wks, one of my salad plates came out of the dishwasher chipped.I called Pfaltsgraph for a replacement (great customer service btw) and I was told these dishes are EARTHENWARE not STONEWARE.Earthenware is not as durable as stoneware.I am disappointed.I was hoping these dishes would last me years, but after what I've seen in 3wks, I'll be getting new dishes probably in 2yrs.

Replacement Hardware Set for Vintage Revere Ware Pan Handles (Two Sets) Review

Eventually, I noticed the handles were loose. My husband tried to tighten them but it didn't work. There were so many other things a family of four needed, I just ddin't want to spent the money on a new pan. I had it on my Amazon wish list for a couple years..............then when I made up my mind to buy the pan, I scrolled down and saw the hardware for vintage reverve ware. My huband (of 30 years) is pretty handy and I thought if I got the parts he could fix the pan. Voila! He did and we are totally back in business with this pan at a cost of $4.00 instead of $27.00!

MIU Silicone Pot Holders, Set of Two, Blue Review

(More customer reviews)I bought a set of these so that i could toss my cloth "mit" type potholders that were getting badly stained, and somewhat natty after washing.Although i agree with the other reviewer that there are many uses for this product, such as being good trivets, the items just don't really cut it as potholders.trying to bend the squares in half to take a pot out of the oven is just asking for trouble, because they don't easily fold over evenly, and actually heat up after holding items with very high temperatures for about 10 seconds.also, you can burn the tops of your hands on top oven racks if you reach into the oven and you're not careful.i love the silicon cooking utensils and thought i'd love these too, but no....i find i'm still using the nasty looking oven mits i have, and I have not really been able to throw them out, unfortunately.i also find the potholders somewhat difficult to use with pans on the stove- they are just not very comfortable to hold.

Pfaltzgraff Sedona 2-Piece Chip and Dip Set Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this chip and dip set not for its stated use but because I got two serving pieces out of it.The interior bowl is smaller than the cereal bowls that come with the Sedona dinnerware set, perfect for small amounts of food, and the large, flattened bowl is about the size of the centerpiece piece, but with the same pattern as the plates.The larger bowl is perfect for large amounts of pasta or as a fruit bowl.

Both pieces are microwave and dishwasher safe, although the outer bowl will be far too large for either.

The Pfaltzgraff Sedona line is stoneware with a festive Southwestern theme.While more heavy than non-stoneware sets, I find it not as heavy (but just as sturdy-feeling) as Fiestaware.
