They are absolutely HUGE, and not at all practical for the common household. The would not even fit in our drawer. They never made it out of the package. i sent them back and I was very disappointed. Dimensions of the knives should be included in the description - (Note for web content managers). These knives are nearly 2-2 1/2 inches wide.

(More customer reviews)To a professional chef, no kitchen tool rivals a great set of knives. When learning my trade in Paris, France, I used only the finest Sabatier knives. Later in life, I was fortunate to make a Swiss Miss a Mrs. Typically frugal and practical... and from a family that has had the same Restaurant Bauernhof for centuries... so, when my prized Sabatiers were lost in transit, she replaced them with a more economical (stamped not forged) Swiss brand, R. H. Forschner by Victorinox.
Suddenly, this 70 year old retired chef cut through decades of knife prejudice... the sharpness, balance, thin blade and heft brought joy to my kitchen again... and for a fraction of what I would usually pay! It has been several years since my first Forschner and it is just as good as the one I just purchased.
Last fall we visited Oberlunkhofen, Switzerland, where my mother-in-law continues as chef of the family restaurant at 82 years of age and her 86 year old sister-in-law is the waitress. Her wooden handled knives were of excellent quality but could no longer pass the NSF rules. I purchased a set of H. R. Forschners for her at a Swiss wholesale restaurant supply house... at a price higher than we could have gotten them on Amazon.com! Not only is she a cutlery pro, but she values price and practicality even in gifts. Now she thinks kindly of me as she cheerfully slices through each day.

(More customer reviews)I almost didn't buy this set because I figured I'd have no use for a gimmicky curved knife and a serrated blade, I only wanted the normal paring knife, but the set was only a little bit more expensive than an individual paring knife.As it turns out I use the curved knife more than any other knife I own, and the serrated one more than the normal paring knife- I was fully prepared to hide those two knives in the back of my drawer and never look at them again, but they are really great.I'm sure you can get better knives somewhere, but not at anything remotely close to this price.I am pretty picky about knives, and Forschner's are definitely the best I have used.I also strongly recommend the 8 inch chefs knife.I guess the best way to sum up my feelings about these (and the 8 inch chef's knife) is that I would have happily paid 4 or 5 times what they cost.

(More customer reviews)I'd been dealing with a steak knife set that I hadn't been happy with for a while.Remembering how well the original Ginsu knives had worked, I did some searching and came across this stainless steel set.I took the plunge and ordered a dozen knives, at this price if they were garbage, I'd throw them out.They arrived today and I must say I was quite impressed at the look and feel of them.They have a heftiness to them I was glad to feel, unlike the lightweight set I was about to discard.I tested them on some leftover steak I had in the fridge....they cut it like butter!I'm delighted beyond belief.Sure you can spend 10 times this amount on steak knives, but I doubt you will find ones that do the job better.Looks, feel, quality and a bargin basement price. Trust me!

(More customer reviews)I ordered this regal cookware and received in a timely manner. The cookware seemed not to match product description of Tri/Ply 18/8 Stainless Steel. The pots had no markings on the bottom which seemed odd as they were supposed to be of high quality Tri/Ply 18/8 Stainless Steel. Regal's name was not on the pots but just a tag in the box. I called Regal to verify if this was their product, and I got an intial I don't think so response. After a long delay, customer service said they were selling some cookware at the retail level but were unsure about the lack of markings. The pots were very light and did not seem to be tri/ply 18/8 ss (I could be wrong). I felt the product wwas inferior and contacted Amazon about a return. Amazon took the cookware set back with no problem.

Pros-
Cost, you really cant get a single pot for the price on Amazon for this set.

Non-stick surface

Cons -

The large stock pot doesn't seem to be as thick or heavy duty as the other pots/pans.

Lids are kind of thin, I would think the might get banged up some.

Long ship time from amazon approximately 2+ weeks. They tell you that up front.

Overall - Again I'm trying to be fair, if your expecting some show pieces for you kitchen to display these probably aren't for you. If you want a nice working set of pots and pans you can't beat these for the price.Update 12/08- Since my review the price doubled on the Nordic Ware set. What was a great deal at $50 is just so-so at $100ish. Still a decent set, just not sure you couldn't piece together something else for the price range.

(More customer reviews)This is a foundation set of high quality cookware, suitable for any serious home cook.With stainless steel exteriors over aluminum cores, the pots distribute heat evenly, yet the cooking surfaces are non-reactive. While they do not have non-stick coatings, when used as directed (preheating oil in the pans before adding food to be fried), food usually doesn't stick to the pans, and you certainly don't have to worry about Teflon flaking off into your food.The stainless steel surfaces are also easy to clean.

If you are used to cheaper cookware, there are a few differences with these pots that you will need to get used to.First, since the pots are heavier than single-layer pots, the balance point for pouring a pot with one hand is right up against the pot itself, rather than out along the handle. And since the handles are solid steel, that means you will definitely need to use a pot holder for pouring, although you can usually touch the handles bare handed if you're simply moving the pots around on the stove.Also, the handles for the lids are steel, so you need to use a pot holder just to lift a lid (and remind visitors to do the same, so that they don't burn their hands).While the cookware is made in the Canonsburg, PA, the lids are marked "Made in China."

Potobelo Italia 10 Piece Cookware Set Review

(More customer reviews)I had bought only one Potobelo 5-quart stainless steel pot a year back,have used it very often and I love it! Food cooks evenly and fast, easy to clean (dishwasher safe), no special care needed, scratch resistant heavy bottom pot with sturdy handles.
So I decided to buy a set of this cookware. I felt it was a good deal compared to T-Fal,Kitchen Aid and Cuisinart.
They come with glass lids for all the pots and 2 frying pans(without lid). All are made in good sizes which is very comfortable for a family of 2 or 4. Since it is all stainless steel and not non-stick, you should make sure to use a little oil to prevent food from burning. In my opinion, stainless steel cookware lasts longer than any non-stick cookware and needs very little care. I am so happy that I bought Potobelo cookware.It looks fabulous and I enjoy my cooking :)

My List: Non-stick, easy cleanup, no rivets in the cooking area, clear ventable covers, no squishy handles, a durable lining to handle meats with bones, and something I wouldn't have to replace every couple of years.

After searching the internet for my perfect cookware I decided to try Swiss Diamond.So far, I'm extremely happy with it.

A word of warning though.Food really doesn't stick.I almost tossed breakfast out of the skillet one morning, when I moved it to a different burner.Needless to say, cleanup has been a breeze.

The clear ventable covers are good.I don't have to remove the lid to see if I need to turn things over.(The stove doesn't get splattered with greese, from me checking the food status every few minutes.)

I haven't cooked meats with bones in the cookware yet, but my 13 year old nephew scrambled eggs with a metal fork.Yes, I was very afraid...Absolutely no marks.So, I'm pretty sure the meats with bones won't be an issue.Turns out that diamonds are not just a girl's best friend.

Negatives: 1-The stew pot is larger than I'm use to, which impels me to cook double batches.(Although, that is a positive for left-overs and family gatherings...)2-The price was higher than what I paid for replacements, but if I don't have to get use to new cookware every couple of years, I'm good.

Update 4 Years Later:I am still very happy with this cookware. So far the bone-in meats haven't caused any damage and I like the stew pot much more than I thought I would.No loose handles.No warped bottoms. No stained lids.

Cuisinart Multiclad Pro Stainless-Steel Cookware 7-Piece Cookware Set Review

(More customer reviews)Given the recent reports on the potential health risk from non-stick cookware, my family decided to go stainless. I liked the performance of clad cookware but reckoned that it might not be a wise choice financially to go all out with All-Clad before I have my own cooking show. The candidates came down to 3 product lines, Anolon Advanced Clad, J.A. Henckels International Classic Clad and Cuisinart Multiclad Pro. The best price I could find for them were all under $200 for 7 pieces, with Anolon having 10 pieces. Being all constructed in full clad, they seem to differ mostly in the handle design before I can do a performance comparison.

Henckels has a huge and unconventional handle. My first impression was it might not fit in my kitchen well. However, it was not until recently that I tried one at a local store. The pan balances well and has one of the most comfortable handles that I ever put my hands on. However, my family needs a larger stock pot and the included 6-quart one doesn't really serve our need.

Anolon has a silicon rubber handle. It's said to withstand the high heat in the oven. However, due to aesthetic preference and concerns about putting synthetic materials in high heat along with food, we decided to go with the Cuisinart set. In the meantime, we separately bought an Anolon Advanced Clad 12" stir fry pan.

The Cuisinart set is a very well made traditional tri-ply cookware with all metal handles. The built differences between Cuisinart and All-Clad is so insignificant to me that it makes the several-hundred-dollar saving and having a set of quality stainless steel cookware set truly a joy. The finish of the Cuisinart pans was superior to the Anolon stir fry pan. However, Anolon's silicon rubber handle obviously is more functional and practical than metal handles since it never becomes slippery or hot in your day-to-day use. I guess this would come down to a personal preference.

The pans both brown well and distribute heat quickly and evenly. The cleaning is also a breeze as long as you heat the pans briefly before cooking. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this purchase.

I'm glad I could never get myself to drop the $$$ on the other companies product. I expected them to be nice from reading the Consumer Reports piece but I was blown away by this set.

This IS the set to buy, don't get a nonstick set...from experience. Even the best coatings wear off over time, you can't use metal whisks in them, and who really needs a nonstick stock pot?

You don't need nonstick for most cooking, you will get better browning and pan sauces from a regular pan, yes you need nonstick for eggs and pancakes but you can always buy a matching nonstick skillet to go with these and still wind up spending much less.
