(More customer reviews)Such mixed reviews on these pans!I had to order these twice because as another reviewer stated..lousey packaging.They arrived damaged.While Ihave not noticed the nonstick coming off, I do have to agree that these are not a good 5 year pan.They are poorly balanced, that meaning the handle is heavier than the pan and it will not sit flat on the burner, everything you cook slides toward the handle. I'll continue to use these until I find a replacement....then out they go!

(More customer reviews)This is a great set of quality cookware that contains only pieces you will use on a daily basis.There are no pieces that will find their way to the back of the cabinet, never to emerge again.These pots cook very evenly, and are easy to clean.The finish is great, and all pieces are dishwasher safe.They are beautiful and can be hung from a pot rack.The locking straining lid on the 8-quart stockpot is wonderful for easily draining liquids, because you do not have to hold the lid on.The 2-quart pot also has a handy straining lid; you have to hold that lid on but the pot is not heavy so it is easy to do.
The one complaint I have is that I wish the set had included a regular 10" lid to use with the stockpot and skillet, and not just the straining lid.Most people will probably want to buy a lid separately, especially if you plan to use the stockpot for more than cooking pasta (I use it for soup and stews as well as pasta).
You may also find youself buying other specialized pieces, but this is a great set with which to start.Farberware did another super job with this one.

Farberware Millennium Soft Touch Stainless-Steel 12-Piece Cookware Set Review

I HAD happily used heavy gauge, aluminum, non-stick (Teflon... coated) cookware for years. I recently read "several" E-ALERTS, about "ALL" non-stick cookware being strongly linked to cancer... (do a Google search on "non-stick cookware cancer" (sans "quotes"))! BAH HUMBUG!

I proceeded to search for the best "safe" cookware-
Bare aluminum cookware is VERY UNHEALTHY!!!
Cast iron does not heat evenly, heavy, and hard to clean...
Bare stainless does not heat evenly, burns/sticks...
I already had some old Farberware "Classic" stainless cookware, with a thin/bare aluminum clad bottom. So-so!

After reading other reviews- I finally decided to purchase the Farberware "Millennium" 12 piece set. These have "Thick Clad" aluminum bases, that are stainless steel encapsulated.

What a joy- "after" some learning curves...!
Everything cooks sooo evenly, to the outer edge! Covers fit tight... Handles stay cool...! Oven safe to 400.

1. At first- Everything I cooked burned to the bottom. I now use my old normal cooking heat, with 1 to 2... less numbers..., on my GE electric range.
If what I cook, may stick- I first "season it" (wipe on a little Canola... cooking oil/PAM high temp spray, "before" I cook. If it's a "pre-heated" pan, you need to pre-heat, a little longer. I NEVER use High (overheat!)!- Warps, and abuse voids lifetime warranty! I season it "just before!" (or it will burn/stick to pan), I then quickly put the food in. Cooking/burning meat..., over 200 degrees causes carcinogens (cancer) to form!!!

2. Stainless is chemically safe "if" you don't clean it with anything too abrasive (rough scouring releases nickel... into food!- You can taste it!).
I visited the Farberware web site..., and adapted some of their their cleaning suggestions.-
The trick to easy cleanup- is to start with a very clean pan!
First I wash it normally (like non-stick cookware). I scrub it with the ScotchBrite "Dobie" non-abrasive cleaning pad. If I still detect "any" residue- Then I put some water in (1"...), with 1/4 cup of vinegar (I use white). Now I let it boil, until it appears clean (usually just a couple of minutes). Wash/scrub it again, and "TOWEL DRY!" ("air dry"- leaves mineral deposits, that food will stick too).
"Squeeky Clean", and ready to go, for the next time!

GREAT CLEANING TIP"S"!- If you have ANY burned on food (any cookware, BBQ grills...).
a. Mix baking soda in a thick hot water paste, and cover bottom. Cover...,& let stand 24hrs...

b. Mix a little water (thick paste) with Comet cleanser. Rub it on, & then put it in a sealed plastic sack/garbage bag, for 24hrs. It will then easily wash clean! Works great on ALL pans/BBQ grills!

I bought this pot to replace my previous one that was very unreliable, and so far, this pot has been working perfectly. Once the lid was even dropped on the floor, and it didn't break. Not bad, huh?

(More customer reviews)This is a good starter set, but if you cook very much I'd go with a higher quality set.When we received this set one pan was uneven and would gently rock back and forth when boiling water (we have a flat ceramic stove top; maybe it doesn't do this on a conventional stove).I use wooden utensils when cooking, hand wash them with a sponge, and let them air dry.However, even with this care the nonstick coating still comes off more than I would have expected.The pans are of a decent weight...not too heavy, not too flimsy.The glass lids are nice (but they do make a popping sound as food is cooking), and the built in strainers are very handy for straining vegetables and large pasta.For the money, they're a great deal, but if you cook much or are wanting a set to last a long time I'd suggest a higher quality brand.I'm going to try this set: Cuisinart Chef's Classic Stainless 10-Piece Cookware Set It got great reviews in Cook's Illustrated.

(More customer reviews)I bought this product last fall and ended up taking the set back. I was really looking for a nice Farberware set with the straining lids.I've had an old set of Farberware for probably 30 years and it's been very serviceable, but I was slowly losing pieces.

The new pots are definitely not the same quality that I had in my old pots.The poorly constructed lids were just not acceptable.The inside of the lid didn't seem to be properly finished or "rolled."The edge was quite sharp on a few of the pots.You would have to be very careful every time you washed those pots.I'm just too busy to worry about safety when washing pots!

The product image does not do this set justice-I selected the blue color because I have mostly blue accessories, and it is a satin metal finish on the outside-not a glossy ceramic coating which makes the set even more durable and easy to clean. The metallic shade of blue is stunning and the cookware is built to last, the lids fit well and they are of a superior gloss and the set is very heavy. I too am hard on my cookware and I expect to have this set for the duration. The handles are tight, and though the set is sturdy-the pieces aren't so heavy that they are difficult to clean or handle as some cookware is-especially skillets. I am single, but after 20 years of marriage I am used to cooking all of my meals and I can tell this set will hold up and serve all of my cooking needs. I already had a farberware full size high-sided skillet for making chili or anything with a larger liquid volume and I think that is the only other item I would add to this collection for a complete kitchen for the gourmet or novice. Value, quality and appearance in one tidy box!

(More customer reviews)Like the other reviewers I'm very impressed with the quality of the Ballarini pots and pans. I've had them for about 1 year now (but purchased them as separate items) and here it goes:

Positive:
- the quality is impressive
- the grooves on the bottom seem to evenly distribute the heat (just watch moving them around on ceran cooktops so you don't scratch anything - this has not happened to me on this cookware but on my previous T-fal pans with grooves...).
- warranty is 5 (yes FIVE!) years and I don't expect to need it
- unlike other reviewers are recommending; they go in the dishwasher in our household and come out right every time

Negative:
- the single saucepans don't come with lids but you probably have one that fits it so that's not a big deal.
- on the bigger pots/pans they come with glass lids which for me are too heavy, but you can substitute with same size metal lids from other cookware

All in all I recommend these highly and I have purchased other saucepans and pots from this company and replaced all of my older ones with them. My recommendation is: BUY THE SET as they are great instead of ending up paying more for individual pieces w/o lids.

If you're torn between supermarket type quality cookware and some higher priced cookware (like Berndes) - these are the best alternative you could purchase!

You know how some cookware just seems like the handles will come off one day? These aren't like that.They feel indestructible. The color is definitely the one of the best parts.They are more reddish than just pain brown. in Fact, when it says bronze, it's pretty close!They have a real nice pearl to them.I highly recommend them!

Though I still find it to be a decent, affordable kitchen set, it was not the set pictured.

I find the product to be of average quality.

The stainless is a little thin, and flimsy. The handles are spot welded, and feel somewhat weak, so as long as these are taken care of, I expect a decent life span out of them. Not bad for [...].
