(More customer reviews)This is a great set of quality cookware that contains only pieces you will use on a daily basis.There are no pieces that will find their way to the back of the cabinet, never to emerge again.These pots cook very evenly, and are easy to clean.The finish is great, and all pieces are dishwasher safe.They are beautiful and can be hung from a pot rack.The locking straining lid on the 8-quart stockpot is wonderful for easily draining liquids, because you do not have to hold the lid on.The 2-quart pot also has a handy straining lid; you have to hold that lid on but the pot is not heavy so it is easy to do.
The one complaint I have is that I wish the set had included a regular 10" lid to use with the stockpot and skillet, and not just the straining lid.Most people will probably want to buy a lid separately, especially if you plan to use the stockpot for more than cooking pasta (I use it for soup and stews as well as pasta).
You may also find youself buying other specialized pieces, but this is a great set with which to start.Farberware did another super job with this one.

Cuisinart Chef's Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized 12-Inch Everyday Pan with Medium Dome Cover Review

(More customer reviews)Let me start off by saying that my main cookware set is the Anolon Titanium set that cost $399 when we got it in 2003. I love these pans because they are heavy-duty, nonstick because of the titanium, and dishwasher safe because of the titanium.Well, I wanted to add an "everyday" sort of pan to my collection because the Anolon set is VERY heavy and takes up lots of space, so I wanted something a little ligher weight for easier handling, but still large enough to cook for larger dinner parties AND easy to clean. So we looked at 12" pans and skillets and we decided on this one, the Cuisinart Chef's Classic Non-Stick Hard Anodized 12-Inch Everyday Pan with Cover.

For what you get in this set...the 12" pan and the covered lid...you cannot beat the price for the quality. For one, it uses a "quantanium" coating for its nonstick base...this is basically a nonstick coating reinforced with titanium, so it can withstand higher temps (oven safe to 500 degrees) and is scratch resistent. I don't use metal utensils anyway, so I can't attest to this...but it has been great so far!

The nonstick is great...makes clean up easy, which is very important to me as free time is very scarce in this household! I haven't thrown the pan into the dishwasher, but the lid gets tossed in and it's been fine. The pan itself cleans so easily that just a soapy nonabrasive sponge is all it takes to get the pan to brand new condition.

The pan also heats up very evenly. I cooked sauteed chicken in the pan and every single piece was evenly cooked. The pieces on the edges of the pan was just as cooked as the ones in the middle of pan. Makes for great cooking when you don't have to fuss about repositioning the food every few minutes for even heat distribution!

I also love the short handles because I always bump into the longer skillet handles when I'm cooking up a storm and I don't bump into this pan. I can also use this on the back burners too because of the short handles. You just can't "toss" your food like you can with a skillet. Use a towel or oven mitt when you touch the handles or the lid because they do get hot...but that's fine with me anyway because I don't like getting hot grease splattered on my hands anyway!

Overall, I am very impressed with this pan, and at a fraction of the price of similar items and nowhere near the cost of my Anolon Titanium set, it's a bargain!

(More customer reviews)OK, I fell for the cute accessories and cheery look of this toaster, plus its low price. (Why should a toaster, which works according to a simple principle, be expensive?) Silly me. It is so lightweight that it tips to one side when you push down on the lever. But the main problem is that it doesn't toast evenly. A single piece of sliced whole wheat bread comes out with gradations of toasted-ness . . . from pale to burnt. Also, the slots do not accommodate longer pieces of bread. Oh, and the toast literally pops! up, halfway out of the toaster, as if auditioning for a role in a sitcom. Maybe I should give it another star just for entertainment value.

(More customer reviews)First, I find it funny how this pan is advertised as "nonstick". If there's anything that the food sticks to, it's this "pan". After only 2 weeks of using it, it looks way worse than Tefal pan I used for over 2 years. If anything this "pan" can serve as a nice demo for introductory physics course on the strength of electromagnetic force of "sticking". Moreover, on the bottom of the pan it says "easy clean nonstick". Again, false advertising at it's finest. The only time someone would have to be forced to clean it is as some form of ultimate punishment for heavy crimes.... like genocide. Second, it's pain to get any food off it once it sticks - because when it sticks - oh then it REALLY sticks. To top it of, even the bottom of the "pan" after two weeks looks like it has been throughout the nuclear apocalypse.

(More customer reviews)This pretty well completes my collection of Chef's Classic cookware.It arrived nicely packaged and undamaged.I have a small range so I particularly favor this pan over the long-handled 12" skillet with helper handle.Cleanup is also easier since the pan, without the longer handle, will sit flat in the sink.

I continue to believe that, other than All-Clad (USA), Calphalon Contemporary (China), and Anolon Advanced (Thailand), there is no better brand of stainless steel cookware.The reader should note that the first 3 have an aluminum core wrapped by stainless on each side and, unsurprisingly, each is far more expensive than the Cuisinart Chef's Classic line, with its heavy aluminum bottom disk.

This pan, at $24.95, is a bargain that will not last much longer.It should make a wonderful Christmas gift to the most discerning of chefs.

(More customer reviews)This product is nothing special. By that, I mean it's not an amazing piece of cookware that makes your food magically perfect. Rather, it does exactly what it's supposed to do, and it does so at a great rediculously low price. I bought this pot because I wanted a stainless steel pot in which I could make my Mexican rice and slow-cooking dishes. And it does all of those things well. The sides are slightly on the thin side, but the bottom is a bit thicker and heats quickly. If you're looking for a very inexpensive stainless steel pot for your basic cooking needs, you can't go wrong here. I can't predict how long it will last, but at a little over $11, I'll be satisfied if I get a good 3 years out of it.

(More customer reviews)I've had this skillet for 4 months, and it is growing on me. I typically cook using cast iron or steel skillets.

If you have an induction range, (e.g., I have the Viking Induction) note that the skillet does not contain much inductive material, and it heats considerably slower than carbon steel or cast iron. On the other hand, that is convenient because you do not want to accidentally ruin a nonstick finish by overheating the pan.

There are two design shortcomings. First, the sides of the skillet are too vertical. It is not possible to "toss" well while sauteing. If you only "stir" this is not a problem. It would be better with more angled sides. The second shortcoming is that the handle has a small, awkward loop, which is hard to hang on a pot hook with any other pans.

The strengths are that the skillet is solid and well-built. The nonstick finish is well attached, and looks like new after four months. The nonstick finish is slightly textured which helps distribute oil.

Note a cover is not included. If you want one, you will need the J.A. Henckels International Classic Clad 26-Centimeter Lid

Some have said that it's from washing in the dishwasher, but this set claims to be "dishwasher safe". If you can find it deeply discounted and don't expect it to last more than 2 years, buy it. Otherwise, move on.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this set on sale at BJs two months ago.I wanted to switch from aluminum to stainless steel cookware, but was hesitant because of the reviews I read.I'm so glad that I purchased this product.The food cooks faster and I haven't had any problems with cleaning.I never leave food in the pots overnight, always soak the pots with water and then rub 'Bar Keepers Secret' on the hard-to-remove spots (available at Target).

Note:I read that if you are allergic to nickel, you should avoid using stainless altogether.
