(More customer reviews)I've had this skillet for 4 months, and it is growing on me. I typically cook using cast iron or steel skillets.

If you have an induction range, (e.g., I have the Viking Induction) note that the skillet does not contain much inductive material, and it heats considerably slower than carbon steel or cast iron. On the other hand, that is convenient because you do not want to accidentally ruin a nonstick finish by overheating the pan.

There are two design shortcomings. First, the sides of the skillet are too vertical. It is not possible to "toss" well while sauteing. If you only "stir" this is not a problem. It would be better with more angled sides. The second shortcoming is that the handle has a small, awkward loop, which is hard to hang on a pot hook with any other pans.

The strengths are that the skillet is solid and well-built. The nonstick finish is well attached, and looks like new after four months. The nonstick finish is slightly textured which helps distribute oil.

Cooking is a delight in this cookware and we find it highly functional and well constructed down to the smallest detail. It looks great on the cooktop and foods stay hot in the pan long after being removed from the cooker.It is expensive but like a good mattress and a pair of shoes it is something that you will use every day and several times each day therefore the cost is reasonable with that consideration as a guide. I really like the built in lid storage feature and the pans stack wellfor ease of storage. They are heavy but that is what gives them the quality. People who know buy Fissler and when I consider how many sets of cookware we have gone thru and tossed out over the years it is with certainty that I say we will have this set for our lifetime!Like grandma's old cast iron dutch oven it is a legacy item. Berndes Nonstick Milestone 7 Piece Set Review

(More customer reviews)I like the brand and I like the set and I liked the price. The problem is that the set arrived scratched. I kept my second set because there were just a few scratches compare to the first set I received from Amazon. I give Amazon all the credit of the world of how fast they reacted when I called for a replacement.

The first set arrived all scratched inside of the fry pan and 7-quart covered stockpot. I called Amazon back and Amazon send a UPS call tag to pick them up right away and at the same time shipped out a new shipment the following day. When I got my second set 4 days later, only the Fry pan still had some minor scratches, however, we decided to keep because of the deal and who knows how the third set will be when it arrives. Me and my wife has came with the conclusion that the problem on the scratches is with their packaging. I believe either Amazon or Berndes will solve this problem with some bubble wraps filling the empty spots...

J.A. Henckels International Classic Clad 10-Piece Cookware Set Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased this set because I was replacing my 16 year old radiant cooktop with a new induction cooktop and most of my older cookware was not induction capable.

I decided that these were a reasonable alternative to the more expensive All Clad cookware and, at this price, if they didn't work out well I could always afford to replace them.

I used them originally with the old radiant cooktop and was quite impressed with how quickly they heated, how well the cooked, and how easy they were to clean. I had expected stainless steel to be hard to clean but these are not. At times I will need to soak them for an hour or so prior to cleaning but most of the time that is not necessary. So far we have used regular dishwashing liquid to clean them.

I'm even more impressed with their performance with my new GE induction cooktop and I particularly like the interior volume markings. It is amazing how I can "titrate" the level of simmering/bubbling/boiling with the combination of the induction cooktop and this cookware.

In short, these are very cost effective, functional, and attractive.

Just all around a great cookset! We almost didnt get it for 2 concerns: we were concerned the handles would get too hot (they stay cool!) and difficult cleaning ..we were looking for non-stick (these still clean quick and easy with a swipe of a brillo pad).
