(More customer reviews)This pan is HEAVY enameled cast iron so it cleans like a dream!This is so thick and heavy that it won't bow or buckle under the largest roasts.What truly makes this unique is that it can be used on the STOVETOP!You can safely use this on an induction stove (or gas), then put it in the oven, under the broiler, and back to the stovetop to make a sauce.It looks really funny cooking with a pan like this on the stovetop, but since it distributes heat so well I don't have any hot spots if the burner doesn't fit.

Dishes that burn in other pans cook perfectly in all of my Staub.This is a great multipurpose pan which is the perfect size for a large chicken or standard cake.

The roaster looks very basic without any logos or bright colors, but this is a piece that is bought for function.If not dropped, it should last a lifetime.

Magnalite Classic 15-Inch Oval Covered Roaster Review

(More customer reviews)My mother always used Guardian Service cookware, bought back in the early 1950's, which was the ultimate in cookware then, also being cast aluminum. I inherited her cookware (which they no longer make) but not until I had already purchased a Magnalite set, which is the closest match to the Guardian Service. It is true waterless cooking. Easy clean up. I never had to "season" mine first (that's usually only done with cast iron cookware) and I've had most of my Magnalite pieces for 30 years. A 15 lb turkey fits in the 15" roaster and I get raves every Thanksgiving . . . the roaster practically makes it's own dark, rich gravy and the turkey meat is so moist! To me, as a devoted family "chef", nothing on the market can beat Magnalite.

(More customer reviews)We broiled fish on this pan twice.It was cleaned twice with only a non abrasive sponge.The non stick material has come off all the raised areas of the pan!Admittedly it was a tasteless substance yet I don't know what effect it is having on my stomach.This company is obviously after a fast buck.Do yourself a very large favor and avoid buying this pan. Had I purchased this in a store I'd walk in and demand my money back.
