(More customer reviews)I have a set of bowls made by BIA that I picked up at a local... store, and have been searching for more since that day!I LOVE these bowls.They are absolutely perfect for a good helping of noodles, or red lentil dal, soup or chowder. They also can double as a serving dish for a side of veggies.
My bowls are high on the sides and resemble a rice bowl.This picture makes the product look a bit more rounded in comparison to what I bought.But in any other way, they are the same.
I love them.What else can I say?

One warning for gift-givers and picky folks: The set I received from Amazon had clear plastic packaging that rubbed a dull scratched spot on the top of each of the handles. They were for our home use, and I figured that after a few trips through the dishwasher it wouldn't matter, but if I was purchasing them to be engraved and given as a gift, I probably would have returned them.

The round dishes are great for making side dishes in like pudding or potato salad. Lids are great for potluck's and the leftovers can be put right in the fridge.

(More customer reviews)We broiled fish on this pan twice.It was cleaned twice with only a non abrasive sponge.The non stick material has come off all the raised areas of the pan!Admittedly it was a tasteless substance yet I don't know what effect it is having on my stomach.This company is obviously after a fast buck.Do yourself a very large favor and avoid buying this pan. Had I purchased this in a store I'd walk in and demand my money back.

(More customer reviews)One correction - the set comes with a 8" and 10" fry pan, not 8" and 12".For the price I paid, I'll buy a 12" fry pan and be way ahead of the game.

This cookware just oozes quality.I've been looking for some time for a set, and I've purchased a few individual pieces to try them out.This set puts them to shame.They heat evenly, they have a gorgeous finish, and they're made from heavy material.

The handles are sculpted and long.The 10" skillet has a handle that is almost 10" long.Most of the pieces have helper handles.

The set comes with a DVD that show the care and use of the set with Marcus as the chef.

The only thing I can't figure out is how to get food not to stick.I've had the same problem with other stainless steel cookware.Some people say cook on low heat, some say to make sure everything is blazing hot before putting the food in.I bought some Pam today, and it worked fine on one side of a hamburger but when I flipped it the other side stuck.At least the pans clean easily, just soak with hot water.The manufacturer even recommends a stainless steel powder like Barkeeper's Friend, as the finish is satin anyway.

The best thing about this set is the its made in the U.S.A. by Wear Ever in Wisconsin.Besides putting money back in the country, I probably don't have to worry about a factory in Szchen Szu province picking up whatever heavy metals are laying around and making a pot for me.

(More customer reviews)This has to be one of the best deals around, even at twice the price, because it replaces so many other things, and is so durable.

The containers work nicely for food storage, but they also can be used for cooking. They go from freezer to oven or microwave, and are dishwasher safe as well.Pyrex is practically unbreakable.With normal use, this set could easily last a lifetime. At the current price, they actually cost less than plastic containers, which do not have either the durability or versatility.

If all that's not enough, consider the health benefits.Glass will not leech plasticiser into your food, and there's no dioxin to worry about when microwaving.

I don't usually rave about kitchen items, but after I recieved this set, I rushed back to order another. I'm getting rid of most of the plastics in my cabinets today!

All-Clad 5000-9 Stainless 9-Piece Cookware Set Review

(More customer reviews)For a good even heat, excellent quality of workmanship, and a dependable name, I can't think of anything better than All-Clad.For years, I used cheap cookware store non-stick skillets and hand-me-down pots and pans my mother used when she first got married.What a difference it makes.
Most cookware is way too thin, which leaves you with hotspots.For years, I would make up for this by using a cast iron "defuser" to even out the heat and keep the direct flame off the bottom of the pan.I don't have to do this any more.With the triple-layering, you get even heating, regardless of whether it's the middle of the pan or the outer edge.
Personally, I like the stainless.MC2 wasn't around when I bought mine, and I might have chosen that because of the low-maintanace exterior, but I'm not regretting it either.I don't have to be worrying about scratching through the coating with it and it cleans up easy enough with a little water and even less elbow grease.
Cooking will always be a chore, even if you enjoy the act in itself, if you never invest in good cookware and good knives.This is the first step on at least one of those.You might also wish to add a double-boiler, the steamer insert and a 1 qt. saucier; and maybe a larger stock pot (12 qt. if you can afford it), but this really lets you hit the ground running.
