Best of all is the size combination. If you look at other sets on this site, you're really getting mini bowls. The sizes in this set are extremely useful! No worries about being poisoned from Chinese manufacturing either. Nice! Keep it up preserve! I plan on buying your whole collection!

(More customer reviews)One of these 5-star reviews could easily have been mine about five years ago.I was over the top about them at first, but am feeling a bit different about SCANPAN these days, and I'm also in the process of replacing my entire collection for which I paid more than I care to admit.

Reading through the Amazon reviews (back then in March 2004) and reviews elsewhere, I was convinced I would be investing in the best cookware on the planet, and it would serve me the rest of my days with its lifetime warranty.At first it performed well, despite the limited size assortment of sauce pans in the titanium Classic line ... the largest being the 3-quart size, which is barely big enough to boil enough spuds for two servings of mashed potatoes.But the pans distributed the heat very well, and food didn't stick to the nonstick surface.

Though I knew I could, I never put them in the dishwasher and, as is my style, I took very good care of the cookware.Living alone, I would describe my use of the cookware as "light" ... I was the only one who ever cooked on them.Even with the surface rated tough enough for metal utensils, I never used anything but nylon or wooden spatulas, spoons, etc.I also never used PAM on the surface.I pampered this cookware.

The covered sauté pan that I used most often was the first to show signs of discoloration on the cooking surface, along with a mass of little bubbles.Some of the bubbles lost their tops, others didn't.This started within 12-15 months of being new.Slowly this worsened and the cooking surface took on an unsightly dull gold/orange hue.Though disappointing I could have lived with discoloration, but within two years food was starting to stick to the surface.REALLY STICK.

A few pieces in the collection still look like new, but only because they're used less frequently/rarely.The two pots I've used the most are not as discolored as the sauté pan, but are bubbled, spotted and scuffed/nicked.The sauté pan is now officially "toast," and I tossed it out today.I'd consider sending the pans back for warranty replacement if it was an isolated defect, but it isn't, clearly all the pots/pans are headed in the same direction ... south.The so-called titanium nonstick surface simply doesn't last.Negative consumer reports about Scanpan are available in abundance on the Internet and should be read before anyone invests too much money in this inferior cookware.Caveat emptor.

(More customer reviews)I have had my set of SCANPANs for 5 years.They are the most awesome pans you will ever buy.I bought mine when I was in college.My wife said I could do anything I wanted with my bonus from work so what did I do?I bought a set of SCANPANs.And I really wanted a 17" monitor.But the pans won in the end.
The pans are solid.Thankfully my wife hasn't hit me over the head with one yet.You feel the difference when you take them out of the box.Then you cook with them and notice how evenly they heat up.No hot spots here.Just solid cooking performance all the way around.
Cleaning the pans is easy.Just grab your favorite steel wool pad or scouring pad and scrub away.The surface is not the best nonstick on the original set I bought but for the most part the food comes off rather easily.Keep reading...
The glass lids are heavy duty Pyrex glass.It sure is nice to be able to see the food as you are cooking it.Do be careful as the glass lids will chip or break.I have several that have bounced off of the ceramic tile and chipped the edges.They still work.I haven't had one break yet and I am rough when I do the dishes.I broke two sets of glasses washing dishes in my first two years of marriage.We now use Mason canning jars for drinking.No warranty on the lids though.
The lifetime warranty is worth it.The 11-Inch Covered Saute got some pot marks in the bottom of the pan.These things happen when you use the pan almost everyday and abuse the heck out of it.so I sent it in to SCANPAN for replacement.In 3 weeks I had a brand new pan; one of the new ones with the New Tek coating.It is an awesome pan.The new stuff is truly non-stick, much better than before.
I highly recommend these pans.What other male would spend this much on a set of pans while still in college.With the lifetime warranty I will have these pans buried with me.Who says you can't take it with you.

(More customer reviews)I bought this cookware set because they were Ecolution, and the color green was what I wanted.I used them twice and the coating on the bottoms of the pans are chipping off.I don't know if this will interfere with how they cook, but I did not expect that this would happen after only using a couple of times!I just missed the deadline to return them by a couple of weeks, so unless I want to only receive a minimal amount of the purchase price, plus the cost for return shipping, I will just chalk it up as a "poor selection", and purchase another set.

(More customer reviews)Have owned these pots ad pans for about two months now, and there has been no peeling at the bottom and no problems with food sticking.The aluminum exterior is an attractive feature and the handles do not get extremely warm during cooking.Would recommend this product however keep in mind that this eco-friendly product is NOT dishwasher safe.

(More customer reviews)This set is the most amazing one I have worked with.I have used various other nonstick pans, stainless steel, cast iron... and i prefer these pans over all.One thing to note is that the nonstick surface scratches right off of these pans if you use any kind of metal.As the pans have exposed metal on them it is not a good idea to stack them on top of each other or to let pile up in the sink.This has not at all been a problem for me because the cleanup on these pans is super fast.Get yourself a set of bamboo kitchen utensils in addition to this set and your in business for some eco-friendly low toxicity cooking.
