(More customer reviews)I bought two and they were better than I expected.The cast-iron pans are perfect for fajitas, but they also work great for a couple of hamburgers, bacon, veggies or anything else you'd like to "grill" on the stove (or on a real grill) when you don't need big, round, cast-iron pan.The top varnish on the wooden pan-holders quickly gets toasted, but that's part of it's charm, it goes with the cast iron.The little pot-holders for the handles are great for the table, but a larger mitt is safer while grilling.NOTE: this IS cast iron and you will need to properly "season" the pans before you first use them to keep food from sticking.

But I want to warn the future buyers that when cooking on my electric range, the handles do get very hot---probably not enough to burn since you will pull your hands off fast, but definitely not comfortable to hold bare-handed for longer than a second. This is not what I was led to think when I bought it.

Well, it isn't a big problem for me anyway since I have other lodge products that have cast iron handles. (Big Lodge fan here!) But don't learn this fact the hard way...

The skillets come with a recipe or two and are easy to clean even after sitting the night. The wooden plates keep the table cool and the grips are all you need when its hot.

(More customer reviews)I was so excited to get this since it was so affordable, I thought!But you get what you pay for!This smelled like enamel, so I don't know what type they use.It didn't smell completely safe, though!It looks like only one layer of enamel and you can see the metal through it with imperfections in the iron peaking though.The edges are rough and uneven.I bought one 11" Lodge enamel pan for about the same price as this and it was worth that and more!The Lodge has excellent quality!
