(More customer reviews)After two plus decades, I finally decided to replace my wood utensils.Though they had served me well, they were now cracked and splintering.

I was considering nylon or silicone utensils to replace them, but about the same time, I had purchased a bamboo cutting board and really loved it. So I checked out bamboo utensils and found these very nice and reasonably priced tools.

First, they are great with all types of cookware, whether traditional or nonstick.And the burnished bamboo surface is very tough.It doesn't mind high heat or the dishwasher.

I also like the bamboo container.It's small enough to place anywhere in the kitchen.I have on set by the stove and another on my prep table.

The only thing I wish it had was a deeper spoon or ladle for serving.

(More customer reviews)I have a slightly different version of the set.Same chrome rack, but with 5 tools.Anyway the utensils have long handles and are quite sturdy.They look great on the counter by the stove.The utensils are dishwasher safe.The ladle serves up a good amount of soup.
The only gripe I have about it is sometimes the rack overbalances and tips over.Now I'm careful about not stashing all the utensils on one side and it works fine.

If you don't have much space in the kitchen, I'd think twice about buying these tools.However, after using them I think they are quite sturdy and useful.Eventhough they are large, they are not heavy and sometimes there size is quite helpful.You can pick up a whole fried egg with the spatula, for example. I am happy with my purchace, because the price was good.

The kitchen tools in this set are all great!good grips indeed!We got these because we have arthritis andhave trouble using some kitchen tools, These are easy to hold and use,good looking, and arequite well built. They do what they are made to do well without requiring much effort. We are going to buy more stuff from Oxo. My kids want sets of theirown for when they move out. It isa little hard to fit all the gadgets back in the bucket as neatly as they arrived.
Update: I've had these for a year now and they are all still in excellent condition and work superbly! the peeler is the bet we have ever had I had given up peeling potatosbut have no trouble now. The can opener is also excellent we all are very happy with these tools

(More customer reviews)I can find nothing to take to task on the All-Clad tools.I have nearly all the tools they make and I like them all.They are easy to clean, no nooks for stuff to get stuck.They fit well in the hand and have a substantial, but not heavy, feel to them.Their shape is very good for the task at hand.The sole negative is their price but when balanced against the good, including the fact that they should last longer than the cook, they are a bargain at the price.

(More customer reviews)We received a variety of these Calphalon nylon utensils as a gift about ten months ago.So far none of them have melted like "cheap" plastic utensils, but they have not proven to be very durable in other regards.I am looking to replace several of the pieces and won't be buying this "model" again for a couple of reasons:

First, the edges have "flaked".I am not sure how else to put it, they aren't exactly cracked but layers of the material have peeled away and this caused little bits of the utensil to break free and add unwanted "seasoning" to my dishes.

Second, they DO bend pretty easily and the silicon surface peeled up at the stress point within weeks.It appears that the silicon section just isn't mounted well.

Third, though they claim to be dishwasher safe, one pass through the washer left them with permanent light spots/stains- they look like bleach stains.

Overall I am not completely dissatisfied, after all the ones that haven't begun "flaking" still do the job with mediocre performance.I don't feel like the purchase price of these would be a waste by any means, I have just used better and would recommend purchasing an alternative.

Oxo Good Grips Safe for Non-Stick Cookware Set, Black Review

(More customer reviews)First off, the price of this set was very good when I purchased it.It was only about 20% higher than buying any single one of these pieces indivudually.

Second, I have not had any problems with the quality of my tongs or spatula.They hold up very well to everything I've put them through, even frying in hot grease on the stove.The only damage that my tongs have taken were when they were directly exposed to the fire of my gas stove after I had sat them down in an inappropriate place.This was my own fault, and they still only had minimal damage.

The spatula, while I greatly enjoy using it and find it easy to clean, seems like it could be better.I usually just clean it by hand, but sometimes I do toss it in the dishwasher, especially if I have finished cooking for the day and know I won't need it for a while.The rubber along the edges of the blade is shorn a bit.I'm not sure if these fragments have come off in the washing machine or other times, but I have noticed it when inspecting the blade.Additionally, the blade does not connect very well with the handle.They are easily separable.This hasn't beena problem with most things but stirring thicker batters has caused me to lose the head in the mix.Still, it is my favorite mixing and stirring spatula at the moment, and I would recommend this set, especially over purchasing the items individually.

(More customer reviews)I own a ton of spatulas and these are by far my favorite. they are thin & flexible, without being limp so that you can flip pancakes, omelettes, etc. easily or saute vegetables or meat effortlessly. They feel right in the hand and their long design allows you to maneuver right in there and get just the piece of food you need to flip. I love that it comes with a smaller one so that when I use my small 6-inch pan to cook for 1, it actually fits right in the pan. If they didn't cost so much, I'd stock up on them, since I'm always sad when they're in the dishwasher and I have to use an inferior one.
